Briar Tarbert, LGPC
LICENSED GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING
My goal as a therapist is to provide you with a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment to dig deep and make conscious, meaningful change through a variety of methods based on what works for you. Through building skills and resilence, I will help you to find empowerment to take charge of your life, manage symptoms, and live in accordance to your personal values.
I have experience working with a variety of issues, from depression and anxiety, to trauma, to substance use and co-occuring disorders, to navigating identity and coming out to yourself and others. I use a mixture of CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, skills from DBT and ACT, and person-centered approaches. I welcome all of the LGBTQ community and those in polyamorous/ethically non-monogamous relationships.
As a queer and trans person myself, I recognize the issues and life transitions members of the community may face in exploring sexuality and gender identity and simply in living our daily lives and the way those things may interact with our other identities.
