Jade Shapiro, MSW, LCSW-C
LICENSED CERTIFIED SOCIAL WORKER–CLINICAL
I work with individuals, caregivers & families 12+ specializing in ADHD, LGBTQ+ issues, and life transitions. My clients often find it challenging to thrive in a neurotypical, heteronormative world and feel like the world just isn't set up for them. They experience struggles with relationships, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, burnout because keeping up with the demands of life is hard.
Using a combination of somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and lived experiences, I collaborate with my clients to build off their current strategies/routines and create systems that work FOR their brains, NOT against them. I aim to help clients feel more comfortable in their own skin by exploring their gender or sexuality and embracing parts of their identity.
I am a board approved supervisor for clinicians holding Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW) and Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) credentials. I have experience working with individuals, families, caregivers, and groups from as young as 3 years to adults ready to retire in a variety of settings including community mental health, schools, summer camps for children & families affected by childhood cancer, hospitals, and nonprofits. I have specialized training in complex trauma (CPTSD), developmental trauma, adoption, and LGBTQIA+ folx.
As a queer & neurodivergent person myself, I can relate to feeling out of place, misunderstood, and lost. I want you to know that you are not alone.
