Reduced Rate Program

We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality mental health care, regardless of their financial situation.

Our program offers the expertise of Master's-Level interns in the last year of their Counseling, Clinical Social Work or Art Therapy program at a significantly reduced rate of just $30 per session. These interns are carefully selected and supervised by experienced licensed professionals, ensuring that you receive excellent care throughout your therapeutic journey.

We understand that affordability is a key factor in seeking therapy, which is why we also offer a sliding scale fee structure. If the standard rate of $30 per session is still challenging for you, we can work together to determine a fee that suits your financial situation while ensuring you receive the support you need.

    ART THERAPY INTERN

I strongly believe in the therapeutic qualities of the creative process. Artmaking can help you to express when words aren’t enough. I would love to help you explore healing through making art.
My favorite mediums to work with are painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture, and we can experiment with all these and more. Whether you love art, or can’t draw a straight line, art can be a powerful way to contextualize life experience, identify and organize coping skills, and realize emotion.
I draw from person-centered approaches in my counseling, and use art therapy methods such as narrative artmaking, assessment, and projective techniques. Artmaking can be therapeutic in individual, family, group or couple sessions. It can be key for understanding each other and seeing things from another perspective. Making art together can forge unique connections. Play therapy, movement therapy, and nature work also find their way into my counseling, and I am open to finding which communication style is most effective for our therapeutic relationship. I am excited to guide you along a journey to find and tap into your creative energy.

    ART THERAPY INTERN

Hello there! Art is powerful. It can change hearts, heal wounds of the past, and bring peace to a restless mind. Artmaking can help express the feelings that go beyond words. It can help you release tensions and find clarity in difficult situations. It can strengthen relationships, help express parts of your identity, work through trauma, and increase self-awareness.
My goal is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental environment with many different materials for artistic exploration. In each session, I bring my authentic self, compassionately listening and supporting you in your artmaking process. My person-centered approach puts your needs first, and as we walk along this path together, you lead the way.  No art experience is necessary; all you need is curiosity and an open mind!  Whether art is your favorite hobby, or it is a step outside of your comfort zone, art therapy can be beneficial for you.
I have experience with traditional art materials like paint, graphite, watercolor, charcoal, pastels, clay, and printmaking, as well as non-traditional materials like found objects, mixed media collages, and recyclables. I also have an extensive background in digital art, specifically photography, videography, illustration, stop-motion animation, and graphic design. I love to discover and experiment with new materials and try to incorporate a variety of techniques in sessions.
Whenever you are ready, reach out and we can start working together. I applaud you for taking this first step in your therapeutic journey!

    COUNSELING INTERN

    Howdy!

I am a Graduate Counseling Intern at Loyola University Maryland and am so excited to get to know you! I believe therapy should be a space that provides you with a safe base to explore parts of yourself, take risks, test out new things, increase awareness, and be able to express your true self. I value a collaborative relationship and authenticity within the therapy room. You are the expert on yourself. You already have the answers within yourself. My role is to help you access those answers and become more attuned with yourself.

My focus is working with children, teens, young adults, and families. Some areas I work with are anxiety, depression, anger management, life transitions, chronic illness, autism spectrum disorders, coping skills, self-esteem, and substance abuse. I tend to have an eclectic orientation as I enjoy pulling from various perspectives to provide a tailored treatment uniquely for you! I value the gestalt and client-centered principles of viewing a person as a whole, genuineness and promoting self-awareness. I love to utilize psychoeducation because it's such a powerful tool to give us context and normalize what we feel and think. Often, I pull from CBT to assist in structuring sessions and incorporate activities into homework. I also enjoy using motivational interviewing to help you find the strength to change.

I hope that we can address your concerns, learn helpful tools and skills, and find solutions to whatever issues arise. I’m looking forward to being part of your journey!

    COUNSELING INTERN

Hello! I am delighted to intern at Pivot Point as I complete my master’s degree in clinical professional counseling at Loyola University Maryland. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples who are experiencing difficulties including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, life transitions, loss, and relationship stress. I welcome working with people of all backgrounds, including folks who have disabilities or chronic illness, those who identify as neurodivergent or LGBTQ+, and those who are questioning or trying to find their identity.

My therapy style is rooted in humility, curiosity, and respect for each client’s uniqueness. I use a person-centered style that encompasses aspects of psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, mind-body work, and mindfulness. Using these approaches, we might explore the influence of your childhood on your present problems, examine the relationship among your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and help you become more aware of your body and the present. I aim to create a safe, comfortable space in which we can explore together what is troubling you and how you might begin to gain relief from suffering. I welcome working at your pace, collaborating with you at every step of the process, and making therapy as transparent as possible. I view mental health holistically and will explore with you the impact of sleep, work, diet, movement, relationships, creativity, and spirituality on your mental health. I will be honored to support you as you begin therapy.
